Flood Warning Info - Sedlescombe and Winchelsea properties adjacent to the Brede

River levels have risen to high levels as a result of heavy rainfall. Flooding of property, roads and low-lying land is expected between 11am and 9pm today, Monday 16 January 2023. We expect flooding to affect properties along New Winchelsea Road. We expect river levels to peak between 4pm and 8pm this evening, as they are likely to be affected by the high tide. We are closely monitoring the situation and our incident response staff are out on the ground checking and clearing structures and debris from rivers. Please move possessions and valuables off the ground or to safety and remain aware of your local situation. This message will be updated by 9pm today, 16 January, or as the situation changes

River levels remain high but are now falling following the heavy rainfall experienced yesterday. Water levels at Winchelsea are currently below the level we would expect to directly contribute to property flooding. Flooding to land and roads is likely to continue in this area until Friday afternoon, 6 March. No further rainfall is forecast. We are continuing to monitor the situation closely from our incident room and have been working closely with our partners. Please continue to remain safe in this area and avoid contact with flood waters. This Flood Warning message will be removed or updated by 10am on Friday 6 March.

River levels have risen as a result of persistent heavy rainfall today, Thursday 5th March. Flooding of property is imminent. We believe there is a possibility of flooding for properties along New Winchelsea Road. We expect river levels to remain high overnight into Friday 6th March We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking our defences and structures. Please avoid contact with flood water and remain safe in the area of concern.
